Making money from online businesses has never been more possible than it is today. You will note, however, that I did not use the word “easy” when I wrote this sentence.

Think that you are selling your product or service to your clients? Wrong. Well, at least a little bit. The product that you are selling firstly and foremost is yourself.

This is pretty much the case in most businesses, but in the case of SEO client services, it really is the top priority. The question your clients are continually asking themselves is – can I do business with this guy? Is he going to destroy my website and its business?

You need to be trustworthy, so think about how you might achieve this. Everything from how your photo looks on your website and your social media account – especially this! Don’t ever forget for one minute that your potential clients will be now checking you out online. We’re not suggesting you need to act like the Pope, but a little circumspection would not go amiss. Be polite and courteous and interested in people in your online interactions, wherever they may occur.

Also, your website matters, like, it really matters. Make sure it works, it looks good and doesn’t have any issues.

Web design and SEO are two sides of the same coin.

If your client has hired you, you don’t want to be battling against another person or firm, who may not completely have grasped what it is you are trying to achieve.

It is better all round, for your client and you, if they only deal with one person or team leader i.e. you. If you are not in a position to offer the service yourself, then hire someone at least initially on a freelance basis to work with you.

Whilst you are still getting established, it helps to have some word of mouth recommendations and the best way to achieve this is by volunteering for free.

If it goes wrong, hopefully you can right it for them and they won’t bad mouth you because it was free, if it goes right, they tell all their friends.

Giving away free stuff on your site is also another good way of showcasing what you can do whilst you are getting started. You don’t do it for nothing though, you get your users to share your site on social media.
